Kicking off a new research area– Agricultural microbiomes!
This week, Kelly and Bridget got their hands dirty sampling soil from an agricultural research plot at CSU’s Agricultural Research, Development, and Education Center (ARDEC). They were helped out by a team from ARDEC, Erik Wardle, Morgan Effrein, and Ethan Gates, and SOCR PhD student Ellie Ellis.
Bridget McGivern wins graduate student teaching award
Bridget was awarded the Charles N. Shepardson Graduate Student Teaching Award by CSU’s College of Agricultural Sciences. This year, Bridget helped Kelly teach Soil Microbiology and is developing a Summer Soil Microbiome Reasearch CURE.
