Fun day learning how to sample for microbes and metabolites in the Poudre River- with Ed Hall, Jemma Fadum, Wrighton Lab members Reb and Josué.
It was so great to be together as a lab for the first time in over a year–and what better than to celebrate Josué’s candidacy!
This week, Kelly and Bridget got their hands dirty sampling soil from an agricultural research plot at CSU’s Agricultural Research, Development, and Education Center (ARDEC). They were helped out by a team from ARDEC, Erik Wardle, Morgan Effrein, and Ethan Gates, and SOCR PhD student Ellie Ellis.
Bridget was awarded the Charles N. Shepardson Graduate Student Teaching Award by CSU’s College of Agricultural Sciences. This year, Bridget helped Kelly teach Soil Microbiology and is developing a Summer Soil Microbiome Reasearch CURE.
One of the benefits of Zoom defenses is that alum scattered around the world can attend! We had several familiar faces attend Dr. Borton’s defense.
